Managing Partner

ROD JONES

Rod Jones is the senior managing partner of the board of directors for Cyber Defense Labs. He is an entrepreneur and strategic investor in security and technology companies. With more than 20 years of experience supporting not-for-profit organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and investments, Rod is a seasoned financial professional with a high-level understanding of private equity and investments.  â€‹

Most recently, Rod was managing director of BlackRock’s Global Client Group, one of the world’s largest asset managers. Prior to joining BlackRock, Rod was founder and managing partner of Cain Capital, a multi-family office in Dallas, Texas, with a focus on alternative and private equity investing.

Rod also worked as a partner at Esping Family Office Holdings, whose expertise includes private equity, public equity, hedge funds, and real estate, and with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), a private client group whose businesses include investment and merchant banks, financial advisory services, and venture capital firms. Rod began his investment banking career at First Chicago. For 10 years he was also the investment committee chair for the board of Parkland Hospital Foundation.

Rod graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Arts and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business.
