Anderson credits his leadership skills, knowledge, and real-world experience in critical incident response and risk management to the early days of his career, where he served as a Delaware state trooper for nearly nine years while cross-trained as a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT-P), a certification he maintained for two decades. He later spent more than 20 years serving in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he combatted violent crime and drug operations, served on the elite Hostage Rescue Team, and led critical national security operations involving cybersecurity, counterintelligence, economic espionage, and critical incident response. Ultimately, Anderson rose to become Executive Assistant Director of the FBI's Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services Branch, overseeing more than 20,000 employees along with all FBI criminal and cyber investigations worldwide, international operations, critical incident response, and victim assistance.

Following his FBI career, Anderson served as Managing Director for a global management, technology, and risk consulting firm, where he rapidly grew the firm's investigative and incident response services. During this time, Anderson and his security team helped companies respond to and recover from thousands of data breaches and other cyber events.

Anderson has served as an expert witness for several ongoing litigations relating to some of our nation’s largest cyber breaches and frequently provides insight and analysis in the media, including CBS’ 60 Minutes, Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, PBS Frontline, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME Magazine, and more.

Over the course of his career, Anderson has been recognized for numerous awards for his contributions and leadership. In 1990, Anderson was named Delaware State Police Trooper of the Year, the force’s highest honor, for attempting to rescue individuals who were trapped in a burning home. In 2012, he was awarded the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award by President Barack Obama for leadership, the highest honor given to a government official. Anderson has been recognized by D CEO in several ways including being named to the Dallas 500: Most Influential Business Leaders as one of the topmost significant CEOs in the Dallas business landscape in 2022 and 2023 consecutively, leading Cyber Defense Labs to achieve first place in the 2023 Dallas Innovation Awards: Innovation in Cybersecurity, and being featured in a 6-page article in the September 2022 edition of D CEO, titled Enemy at the Gates.

In March 2022, Anderson published his first book titled L.E.T.S. Lead, a compilation of personal and life-changing stories that helped shape his philosophy toward finding success through leadership, energy, and teamwork. This book is an inspiring resource with simple and insightful recommendations to help individuals recognize leadership moments in their own lives and take advantage of lessons learned to further develop one’s own authentic leadership style.
